Vox Telecom has offices located in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Pretoria in South Africa as well as in Windhoek, Namibia. The company listed in 2004 on the Alternative Exchange (AltX), a division of the JSE and currently has a market capitalisation of R2,1 billion. The group now comprises over 18 000 business customers across the Corporate Voice and Corporate ISP business units, with approximately 160 000 Consumer ISP customers.

In line with Mvelaphanda Group’s strategy to invest in the Telecoms, Media and Technology sector, Mvelaphanda Group acquired a 12,3% interest in the share capital of Vox Telecom. The deliberate approach adopted by the Mvelaphanda Group of acquiring a small interest in an alternative telecom company is to ensure that the risk to shareholders is minimised yet taking advantage of opportunities in the sector.
